Buccoo Village
This is where we stayed most of our holiday. We rented a room at Miller’s Guest House, located in Buccoo Bay and it became our home for 10 days or so.
It felt just like home. Winston, the owner, was so friendly and helpful. It is not a hotel, so no fancy rooms, but instead it is more like living with the locals. And the location is also great.
We do think that being in an all inclusive resort with all the amenities you’d need, makes it harder for you to interacting with locals and it keeps you from understanding their culture, traditions etc.
Buccoo village is a fishing village located south west of the island. Home to Sunday School and the famous Goat Racing, which is also a pinpoint not to be missed. The locals are very friendly and so relaxed and laid-back, but at the same time they do know how to party.
Time here seems to pass much, much slower than anywhere else.
