CEZAR & VALERIA
Who are we?
Two companions who enjoy, what others would say, the small things life can offer. We would like to differ and argue that these are some of the best things one can wish for. Nature, wildlife, experiences that can make us understand that even if we are separated by borders, oceans, mountains we are still One World.
Hi there! I’m Cezar. I have a lot of passions but I am most devoted to photography, videography and of course, traveling. In my opinion, these three ingredients work very well together. Sprinkle some spices on top, such as nature and wildlife, and you won’t forget the taste.
Valeria is my name and I am happiest when traveling. Meeting new people, learning about their cultures and being able to understand the differences and similarities between them is what I am interested in.
AND THIS IS US
It was 10 years ago when we first met.
We were young and clueless about what the future will bring. Six months later he asked me out and we have been together ever since. We had our ups and downs, nobody can deny, but I guess you really know when you made the right choice in choosing your life companion when all the ‘downs’ can be changed into ‘ups’ 🙂
We went on our first trip together in Spain, in 2006, but both of us have traveled before, to other countries. After returning back from Spain, we both enrolled at University, where we studied Political Sciences. During the student years, we have worked and travelled in Greece, the US, and Spain. In our final year of University, we realized that politics might not be exactly what we want so we started to wander around, thinking what is it that we need to do with our lives?! What will make us happy? We were more and more drawn to the idea of traveling and after being together for 4 years now, traveling and experiencing some pretty amazing stuff, our minds were always on the road.
So one thing was certain: we both wanted to travel. But what do you do when your family wants you to settle down, the system forces you to follow the ‘pattern’, all your friends start planning on building their careers and all you can think about is that you don’t want to do it their way.
It was difficult, even for us, to understand completely what is it that we wanted to do, but we knew we had to do it right, in order not to have any regrets afterwards.
Being somewhat difficult for us to start exploring the world from Romania, we decided to move to the UK thinking this will give us better opportunities and we would get to explore UK at the same time.
It was not easy at all to make our parents understand we want something else – and we are two of those people who have a close connection with their families – but nevertheless, after explaining to them what travelling means to us and after they have seen how excited and happy we are when we talk about our travels, they are now, more than happy for us and they support our decision in full.
Living in this ever-growing society and ever-changing world, where we are being taught from an early age that money are the centre of the Universe, we truly seem to be brainwashed. Now and then, we need to take a break and just breath. Give yourself time to see the world more clearly.
You will be amazed of how happy you can be by letting go of the material world and get out of this never ending cycle – even if only for a while – we now call life. Join us in our journey as we travel around the world and who knows?!.. You might find the courage, same as we did, to follow your dreams, no matter how hard it seems.
It may be that you choose to go on short trips or why not a year long trip? Either way, you will most definitely find it refreshing, not to mention it will widen your perspective, boost your self-confidence and increase your knowledge.
And as we always say, we do have just one life (at least here, on Earth 🙂 ), so why not make it worth our while? Even if only for a short period of time, you can choose to do something for you and you can choose to follow your dreams!
Let go and enjoy the ride!
PINS AND POINTS IN THE MAKING
What is the first thing you do when you find yourself looking at the world’s map?
Pinpoint places you have been to or places you would want to go to, of course! And when we say pinpoint, it does not necessarily mean that it needs to be with actual pins. Even just by thinking of a specific place in the world you would be doing the same thing.
The joy, the thrill, the memories that rush through your mind whenever your eyes focus on a point on the map, will always be there, reminding you of how travel is very different from any other material thing you may own.
Of course you might experience bumpiness in your travels, once in a while, but this is part of living and we are sure people that do not travel are familiar with it too.
Be it Tripadvisor, a physical map on your wall or even the map you memorized since you were in primary school… you get back from your travels, you try getting back to your day to day tasks, but you keep on being drawn back to that map.
At least this is the situation in our case. And we always thought that it has to be more to life than what we know. Or if not more, than maybe a different side of it that is yet to be discovered.
Pins and Points…
…is our way of sharing with you the ups and downs from our travels, tips and ideas, showing you places you have probably never been before, or reminding you of the amazing places you have already been to.
The world experienced by us
It will be challenging, we’re sure, but what better way to understand the world we live in than actually living in it. Through this blog we hope we will be able to inspire other people to travel, and feel at home everywhere in the world, embracing the diversity that this amazing planet has to offer.
Last, but not least and definitely one of the most important things to be said is:
Let’s Cherish Our Home Planet
Let’s protect the flora and fauna, and thus protect ourselves. Let’s not be greedy and selfish, so that future generations will be able to experience the joys of exploring our world the same as we do today, or why not, even more.
All you need is a map, some pinpoints and until you know it,
you’re out in the world doing what you do best!
